Jamaica is a member of:
- The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) which the specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to promoting the protection and use of IP throughout the world for the benefits of all, and
- The World Trade Organisation which is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations.
Jamaica is signatory to the following international agreements on Intellectual Property:

- the Vienna Agreement establishing an International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks
- the WIPO Copyright Treaty

- Agreement on Trade Related aspects of Intellectual Property Rights(TRIPS)
- The Jamaica/USA Bilateral Agreement on the Protection and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights
